Vodafone First-Quarter Sales Rise on Currency Swings, Expansion - Bloomberg.com: "July 24 (Bloomberg) -- Vodafone Group Plc, the world’s largest mobile-phone company, said first-quarter sales rose 9.3 percent, helped by currency swings and acquisitions.

Revenue in the three months ended June 30 increased to 10.7 billion pounds ($17.7 billion) from 9.8 billion pounds a year earlier, the Newbury, England-based company said in an e-mailed statement today. Analysts predicted 10.66 billion pounds, the average of eight estimates compiled by Bloomberg."
